// Review: BHcosmetics vs Sleek

G'day Internet.
I'm back with another review, or, this time, I would call it a competition. (yea, let's just pretend it isn't Valentine's Day)

BHcosmetics vs Sleek

First, you need to know that when Urban Decay released their Electric palette, I fell in love.
Those colours. Those bright, bright colours.
And that price.
You know, I own two Naked palettes but you can use those colours every single day but as long as you don't want to be an eyecatcher, like literally, or if you don't go clubbing regularly, 47€ is just way too much money. Eventhough UD is worth it.
Anyway, I knew I needed some bright colours along with my dark and nude shades so I ordered the BHcosmetics "Take Me To Brazil" palette (10,95€) and the Sleek "Ultra Mattes v1 Brights" palette (9,90€, both on kosmetik4less.de)

So, you get 30 colours in the BHcosmetics palette and 12 in the sleek one.
Below you can see some swatches. I used my ZOEVA eyeshadow primer.

Sleek palette:
The pink, purple and blue shadow on the right are the shades itself on the primer, the three on the right are on top of a white eyeshadow. I used the NYX jumbo eye pencil in "Milk".

BHcosmetics palette:
Same as for Sleek: only primer on the left, "Milk" as a base on the right.

I highly recommend a white eyeshadow base if you ever want to use such colours. That's the point of bright eyeshadow. You want the colours to pop!

So, the best way to really "test" bright eyeshadow is by creating a rainbow eye makeup.
Therefore, I used similar colours from each of the palettes.

Sleek

BHcosmetics

Left: Sleek
Right: BHcosmetics

Both palettes are great, you can't deny that.
The colours blend in easily and you can create various different styles.
But anyway, my fave is "Take Me To Brazil" by BHcosmetics. 30 shades for less than 1€ more than you would spend on the Sleek palette and their pigmentation is a bit better than the Sleek ones.

//Photo Series: My new vanity

Hi Internet,

I hope you guys are okay as I am ill. Again. Probably because school is stressing me out so much.
Oh well, just a few more weeks and I'm done.

Anyway, during my winter holidays I finally had enough time to assemble my vanity area and, as it's my favourite part of my room, I thought I should share some pics with you :)

I love it.
Haven't put all of my makeup in the drawer yet, and I probably won't just because it looks so clean right now haha

// First impression: Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit

Hi, hey, hello Internet.

I'm back again. Well, for a while.
School is just very time and life consuming at the moment that's why I haven't posted for what felt like ages. But on the bright side: there are only like 6 weeks of school left. And like 8 until my exams. But I promise, once they are done I'm going to post regularly. (I know I said that before but you know, school is my number one priority at the moment.)

You guys probably know about my obsession with makeup so you won't be surprised if I told you that I bought quite a lot of new stuff during my absence. And I got some makeup for Christmas as well. Like the ABH Self-Made eyeshadow palette. Yes, I cried. :D

But today I want to tell you about the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kits which I ordered about a week ago and received them after only 6 days. Well, it would've been 4 days but there was a weekend and concerning that it has been only 4 days, it was here faster than the shop, beautybay, said on their website. Thumbs up for that!
I also ordered the Dipbrow Pomade and the eyebrow brush (but there's going to be another post about that).

I got the cream contour kit in Fair, the lightest one, as highlighters so far never really worked on me and I can tell, this kit is the answer to all my prayers.

I tried it for the first time the other day and this cream contour kit is my holy grail already. I always wanted to try cream so seeing an ABH kit suitable for my skin tone was freaking awesome and I actually didn't mind spending 46€ on it. And I usually regret buying more makeup really fast haha
The highlighters really DO highlight my face. They make your cheekbones, bridge of the nose and forehead pop! The contour shades are a bit more ashy than in other contour kits and that's just another pro if you're looking for other arguments.
They also blend in so easily!
The only thing I don't really get is the "white highlighter" in the middle.
Whereas the other shades, contour and highlight, are richly pigmented, this is just like... nothing. It actually makes your cheeks or nose look wet.
But 5 out of 6 shades are awesome anyway and I recommend this to everyone who wants a great cream contour kit.

Highlighters (left to right): Soft Light, Lustre, Fair
Contour shades (left to right): Fawn, Shadow, Mink

The powder contour kit was 46€ as well and I got it in case I wouldn't be able to handle cream contour.
And also because I wanted something different for my everyday contour.
I've been using my smashbox contour kit for almost one year now and yeah... I got tired of it so I needed something new.
The powders blend in perfectly and they're just as richly pigmented as the ones in the other kit.
I don't regret buying this one as well and if you prefer contouring using powders, you should definitely get one of these.

Highlighters (left to right): Vanilla, Banana, Sand
Contour shades (left to right): Java, Fawn, Havana

// Review: Zoeva Rodeo Belle Eyeshadow Palette

Heyo lovely Internetians!

Welcome to another review.
When I ordered some Christmas presents the other day I just had to buy some stuff for myself as well.
Maybe as some kind of a pre-Christmas gift haha.
So therefore, I got the ZOEVA Rodeo Belle palette (17,99€), a ZOEVA primer, another NYX soft matte lip cream (6,99€) and the Real Techniques makeup sponge (5,99€).
You've probably noticed my love for eyeshadow palettes and lipsticks if you've been reading my posts for a while so that order shouldn't be surprising haha :D

Anyway, when I saw the Rodeo Belle palette I just HAD to buy it.
The shades are amazing and from what I've seen on other blogs, I was amazed by the pigmentation.

Take a look at the swatches below (no eyeshadow base):

I was freaking excited to try it and I fell in love with this palette even more while applying the shadows onto my eyelid haha
I used the ZOEVA primer as a base for creating this, I kind of messed up the blending part in the end but I actually don't care because... just look at how high pigmented and pretty the shades are!

I used "Cactus Flower" all over the lid and blended in "Bang Bang" on the inner and outter corner.
I then added "Day Money" on the upper and lower lash line.

Do you own any ZOEVA palettes?
I already know that "Rodeo Belle" won't be my last ZOEVA palette, but maybe my favourite ;)

// First impression: Essence LE Winter? Wonderful!

Hello Internetians!

It's December.
It's winter.
Christmas is on its way and everyone needs to get some presents for their loved ones (well, not me. I bought the last present yesterday so I guess I'm well-prepared :D)
And while I was on a stroll around our local drugstore I couldn't help but notice the latest essence le called "Winter? Wonderful!"
At first I thought "Why would you call your le that... winter is only wonderful as long as you don't have to go outside and face the cold."
Yea, you can see I'm not really fond of winter haha but anyway, I'm that kind of person who always falls for a cute packaging so I couldn't resist and got three items out of all those good-looking lippies, nail varnishes, blushes, highlighters, eyeshadows and hand balms.

As I'm a sucker for eyeshadow, I just HAD to buy the "all ice on me" eyeshadow palette (3,99€)
If you know me you probably also know about my struggle of finding THE perfect, highly pigmented white eyeshadow. The lightest shade of the naked smoky palette is my fave so far although I thought that there's a low budget eyeshadow that's almost as perfect as "Thirteen" because sometimes you only need one eyeshadow and not a whole palette. But since I wanted the naked smoky so bad...you know... :D

Anyway, I should have swatched this palette before buying as the lightest shades aren't that pigmented, tho the brown shadows are really good and I think overall they're very pretty.
And yes, I am sorry for the bad exposure but you know... it's winter, it gets dark earlier so I had to adjust lighting condition a bit.
(but I wrote some softboxes on my Christmas wishlist, so fingers crossed haha :D)
If there's enough time during my Christmas holidays I'll try to review this palette and also the other two pieces. As a whole makup look maybe :)

I also bought the "winter kissed cheeks" blush and the "you melt my heart" highlighter (2,99€ each).
I was looking for a powder highlighter for a while so I put that one in my basket in no time and the blush... it just looked very pretty haha I told you I'm a person who falls for a nice packaging very easily :D
I haven't tried them yet as I made myself an advent calendar (how sad is that hahaha but my bestie sent me one the other day and I cried THANK YOU ALINA) and they're a part of it :)

// Review: Urban Decay Naked Smoky

Hey ho Internet,
it's me again.
And I finally found enough time for testing my new baby and telling you about my first impression.
I've been curious about the new Naked palette by Urban Decay, I loved my Naked 3 because it's so rosey and pretty but I've been looking for something darker for a long, long time.
So when I heard about UD releasing a new palette, I was super excited and I just had to buy it.

The Urban Decay Naked Smoky is per-fect!
The shades are awesome and they're high pigmented, but I'd always recommend an eyeshadow base just for making the shades pop out more and to prevent crumbling.
The first look I created with this is a simple, not-too-dark smokey eyes makeup which you'll find at the end of this post :)
Talking about the packaging I have to admit that this has to be my fave.
I mean, look at it. the smoke in the background...
Also, the brush that comes with this palette is better than the one you get along with Naked 3.

The shades are called:
High-Dirtysweet-Radar-Armor-Slanted-Dagger-Black Market-Smolder-Password-Whiskey-Combust-Thirteen
Password, Whiskey, Combust and Thirteen are mattes and Black Market is such a pretty, satin-finish black and so far, they're my favourites.

Okay so for the first look I created, I used:
-Combust
-Whiskey
-Thirteen
-Black Market

First, I put some of Combust on the crease, followed by Whiskey, which i also used for creating a wing. Then I blended both of them as good as possible and continued with dabbing Thirteen on the lid, except on the outer corner.
For the outer corner and the lash lines, I used Black Market.
And it's all about blending haha

This is like the first time that I ever created a smokey eye that didn't look like pure shit haha
And excuse the bad quality..
It's just, I sit in front of my window when I'm taking photos for my blog and as it's autumn, it's just dark and grey all the time...
But I'll maybe get a ring light very soon so yeah...

Have a fab day

// Hey There!

Hello Internetians, long time no see!

It's been almost two months since I last uploaded something and I'm so sorry.
Like, really sorry.
For the past few weeks I was constantly thinking about what I should post next but I actually never had enough time for taking photos, writing etc. because my last year of school started and suddenly all our teachers were like "Private life? Who needs a private life when you can learn! Here, take this research paper, oh and this poem for analyzing, wait do you have enough tasks for math? Here, have some more." They literally went all Oprah on us.
But for now, I'm at home, ill.
I've been ill at this time of the year for quite a few years now and I hate it.
I hate it when my voice goes from normal to 90year-old man within seconds.
Saw the doc's on Tuesday and been taking medicine since the weekend before and I'm still not feeling 100% which means I'll have to go to the doctor's once more and I'll probably have to stay at home a bit longer. Staying at home is cool sometimes, like, when it's only a day because you're feeling shitty, but when you're feeling like shit for more than a week it just sucks because you know that there's a lot of stuff happening in school and you'll have to work a lot at home to catch up.
But anyway, being aware of all of this didn't keep me from things I wanted to do for a long time now:
Reading. And drawing.
My number one hobbies.

Okay, yea, I do read a lot a day, like at the train station or during free periods but I never get to draw, which I think is really sad as I love drawing and I recently bought Faber Castell Polychromos but I haven't used them yet.
I had a huge canvas standing behind my TV and I originally wanted to draw the tattoos of the 1D boys on it but I started it in like 2012/2013 and since then they got more and more tattoos and Zayn left and I'm still not over this so I took black paint and as a result I had a black canvas.
Now I'm just going to draw white henna-ish flowers on it and it actually looks really nice at the moment.
It's not finished though as I had to stop at like 1am because I was just too tired and I didn't want to mess it up. Yesterday I didn't continue but started a new drawing:
It's my brother's birthday in a few days and I'm broke af so I thought "Okay girl, your drawing skills aren't THAT  bad." and I started drawing...
And after a few hours I was done...

I'm just going to erase the grid and put it in a frame and I really hope he'll at least act as if he likes it :D
Oh and btw, I made a new Instagram dedicated to my drawings and artwork and I'd love it, if you could follow me on there: pencilcase.irwin

I also bought a lot of new makeup so watch out for new reviews really soon :)
